Praise for Sacrifice: Book One of The Last Forever

star star star star
Kelly has created a magical world inhabited by elves and and dwarves and giants and humans and monsters. Kelly is great with words--her clever fast-paced action scenes are breath-takingly memorable. Strong writing coupled with powerful characters pulls the story through a few minor plot weaknesses. We're rooting for the young heroine from start to finish. Sacrifice--a great action adventure that will leave readers begging for more. Thank heavens there's a sequel.

Captivating fantasy adventure...
This is a captivating fantasy adventure written by a new, talented Canadian author Kelly Komm.
The heroine of this book, Nell, is a human girl who is raised in a land called Cantro by a wise, crafty elf named Garick. He rescues her from the evil Garshua after they kill her parents. Due to Garick's love and protection, Nell thinks she is an elf until they are once again threatened by the evil Garshulan soldiers whose primary job is to rid the world of all humans.
On Cantro, it is believed that the Goddess Saros created eight races and that one of them--the human race--has been wiped out. However, Nell and a small band of others--that she knows nothing of--are sole survivors. When the soldiers get close to discovering the human band, they go on the move, seeking escape. Through a series of exciting twists and turns, Nell joins forces with the other humans and they band together to... But that's enough! I can't tell more without revealing too much of the plot.
I can say that author Kelly Komm has written a page-turner of a book. Sacrifice: Book One of the Last Forever is well-written with believable characters that involve the readers' emotions. I hope she soon finishes Book Two because I would like to reunite with Nell and hear all about her further adventures. Can't wait to read it.

A solid five stars!

Mystical and rich with vivid description, 5 stars

After her parents are slaughtered by the evil Garshu, young Nell is raised by Garick, a wise elf who shelters her and protects her from danger by passing her off as an elf child. Until the day Nell discovers the truth. She is Human, a race that is thought to be nearly extinct.

Accompanied by Garick and a band of fascinating characters, Nell sets off on a perilous journey to rid the world of the bloodthirsty Garshulan soldiers, to destroy once and for all the Garshula and their nests, and to find justice for her parents’ death.

Kelly Komm’s writing is lyrical, moving and engaging. Mystical and rich with vivid description, Sacrifice is a mix of fantasy and adventure that will keep you turning the pages until the very last one. It is one of those rare finds, and although it is marketed as young adult fiction, even adult readers will enjoy this entertaining novel. I certainly did.

Read It!, 5 stars

The novel "Sacrifice" by Kelly Komm is compelling.  You forget you're reading a book, as Cantro is a believable land, alive with characters that are also easy to believe as being real.  At times humorous, the narrative contains some surprises & unexpected plot twists all set within the collective harsh reality of staying alive.  I can't wait for her next book.
