About Books
Her father Harris introduced her to literature at a young age and she learned to love books. As a preteen she discovered a love for fantasy and although she truly enjoys many different genres, fantasy holds a special place in her heart. Some of her favourite books as a child were the Sweet Valley Twins and High series’ and books by Bruce Coville. Not to mention author Lyle Weis, the author whom she met at age nine. Growing up, books that remain distinctive to her were: The Hobbit by Tolkien, Prince Ombra by Roderick MacLeish, and Random Acts of Senseless Violence by Jack Womack. As an adult there are too many books to name that are favorites of hers, but Australian writer Juliet Marillier is an author whom Kelly holds in the highest esteem.
